Our Events in Malton - Workshops, Beauty & Wellbeing

Join us in Malton for this new workshop wherein we will learn how to use natural essential essential oils to create beautiful, therapeutic blends and some lovely home and body fragrances to take home with you. We will be working throughout the workshop with natural essential oils, which have been created from distilled fruit, seeds, flowers and plants; no synthetic limonoids, fragrance oils or parfums here!

You will work as part of a small group, with qualified chemist Clara, to create three of your own, unique essential oil home fragrance blends to take home and use in diffusers, oil burners or candles. We will also help you select a blend with which to make a 100ml massage oil and a 10ml pulse point oil, to take home for your personal use or to give as a gift.

During this two hour workshop, we will cover

• The principles of perfume and smell
• The therapeutic properties of essential oils
• Exploration of the top three essential oil blending techniques
• Blending tips and technoques
• Safety considerations and an overview of natural allergens
• Create three of your own unique essential oil home fragrance blends to take home
• Making your own 100ml fragranced massage oil and a 10ml aromatherapy pulse point oil to take home

Please note that we will work within UK safety guidelines but we are unable to provide personal allergen diagnoses or medical advice. If you are concerned about possible reactions, please consult your practitioner.

Join us for one of our 30 minute participative demonstrations of this popular approach to natural beauty. The session will focus on the benefits of the practice in a private, quiet area at the rear of our Malton store. 

Sarah and our Cosy Cottage team will be on hand to provide natural beauty advice and free mini treatments throughout the day too

Capacity for these popular demonstrations will be limited so we are asking for a nominal £12.00 reservation deposit for your choice of demonstration, £5.00 of which is redeemable on the purchase of any items in-store on 8th June 2024.

Join us in our Malton, Navigation Wharf workshop (see below for google maps link) for a glorious, relaxing afternoon of palm oil free soap-making! Make six bars of your own signature, cold process soap to take home.

We have had outstanding feedback from past participants and are delighted to have scheduled our workshops for 2024. Due to the popularity of these workshops, early booking is recommended. 

In our spacious premises in Navigation Wharf, Yorkersgate, next to the Talbot Hotel, Malton, we are very happy to be able to host up to ten participants, to make six, lovely bars of palm oil free soap, each, bearing your own signature fragrance, made from a blend of essential oils. 

You will make your palm oil free soap from vegetable oils and waxes using the cold process soap-making method. No melt-and-pour synthetic soap bases here! Your will then personalise your soap using dried flowers, fruit, exfoliants and fragrances.

We would love you to join us in our Malton, Navigation Wharf workshop for a Crafty session, learning how to make decorated, 100% soy wax, container candles. You will create 2 x large candles (usual RRP £20+ each) or a collection of smaller candles and tea lights, to take home with you. 

All your candles will be fragranced with your choice of natural essential oils and essential oil blends rather than synthetic fragrances.  

We will start with warm drinks and cake, before settling down for a session of learning and crafting together. We anticipate the workshop will take around two hours but we do not like to rush, it's all meant to be enjoyable and relaxing :)  

Join us in our Malton, Navigation Wharf workshop (see below for google maps link) for a glorious, relaxing session making your own lip balms and essential oil fragranced, relaxing pulse-point balms too! Take home up to 10 tins of your own exclusive balms after the session to use personally or to gift to your family and friends. 

We have had outstanding feedback from past participants at our full suite of Cosy Cottage face to face workshops, which have included soap, soy wax candlemaking and balm making workshops.  

In our spacious,  premises in Navigation Wharf, Yorkersgate, next to the Talbot Hotel, Malton, we are very happy to be able to host up to six participants for these relaxing and enjoyable lip and pulse-point balm making workshops. 

You will make your balms in your choice of 15ml or 30ml tins, The usual choice for lip balms is peppermint but a taste free version is frequently preferred by those with allergies. Your relaxing pulse point balms can be made in a choice of fragrances or your own blend. Lavender is s particularly popular fragrance for relaxing pulse-point balms as is chamomile or vetiver.
